Seems we're still receiving some applications occasionally.
Colossus disbanded late 2007, we are no longer active on Chromaggus.
So we can fulfill the perfect raid roster we're still looking for several more classes. If you're level 70, Well geared, and can meet the time requirements of the guild then feel free to pop your details on the application form located here
These are currently the classes and roles we are looking to recruit:
Ranged DPS Classes
Warlock x2
Shadow Priest x2
Hunter x1
Healers
Holy Palladin x2
Resto Druid x2
Melee DPS
Note that the two postions below must be exceptionally skilled and have decent gear. There are far too many "wannabes" on the Chromaggus server who can't grasp the mechanics of the below classes- Being top of your damage meters doesn't mean you're skilled.
Enhancement Shaman
Fury Warrior
Please note we are FARMING T4 content (DEing most of the drops to be honest) and we are looking for people to fill class gaps we have so we can make progress on the T5 content. As such you will need to be able to jump in and start raiding SSC with us without being undergeared.
Our current raiding schedule is listed below, We ask that our guild members be able to raid as much of these days as possible. If you can only make a few of these days then apply anyway, we can work the schedule around your needs and recruit someone else for the gaps if needed.
Sunday start at 19:30 and finish at about 23:30.
Tuesday start at 19:30 and finish at about 23:30.
Wednesday start at 19:30 and finish at about 23:30.
Some Thursdays start at 19:30 and finish at about 23:30.
We are currently in the midst of trialling a number of people: thank you to those who applied. We are still interested in a number of classes, though, and are still recruiting! Tanks and healers are still required, and we're still after some ranged DPS in the forms of Shadow Priests and Warlocks, we also may take a Karazhan-geared Mage. We've filled up our trial spaces on our Elemental Shaman and Hunters, so you need not apply.
We are currently recruiting all classes with the exception of Arms/Fury Warriors, Enhancement Shaman, Protection/Retribution Paladins and Balance Druids. We are particularly interested in ranged DPS in the forms of Warlocks and Shadow Priests, tanks in the form of Protection Warriors and healers of any type.
About Us
Colossus has been around since July 2005 and we have a variety of players in our guild; from those who are generally very casual, those who are focused on PvP and the arena, to those whose primary focus is endgame raiding and progression. We are recruiting players for that last group.
We raid three to four nights per week, four to five hours per night. Our raids begin at 19:30 Game Time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Sundays and occasional Thursdays. Our schedule isn't demanding, so if you can't make 90% of those raids, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Also, if you're looking to raid six days a week for six hours per day, I'd also suggest looking elsewhere.
We have two groups clearing Karazhan, have cleared Gruul's Lair and are looking to make further progress in the Tier 5 instances.
About You
Colossus are looking for dedicated, knowledgeable players whose primary focus is PvE. While people who enjoy PvP are most welcome, PvE progression should be your priority, be what you build your character around and should be the deciding factor in choices which you make regarding gear and spec.
We are ideally looking for people who are geared enough to be able to jump in and help us with the Tier 5 content, but if you're well geared with 5-man/heroic gear, please apply. Karazhan attunement is required.
You should enjoy the game as a whole, and plan to continue playing for some time. We are not interested in a player who merely logs on to raid and logs off after; you should want to actively take part in guild activities. Also, you should apply with your main character; your main WoW character, we are not interested in sharing you with another raiding guild on a different server.
How to Apply
Please check out our application form. Applications are submitted to an internal discussion forum. We will get back to you in game hopefully a few days after submitting.
A swift killing of High King Maulgar meant we led an enthusiastic raid to have some attempts at Gruul and, after a few wipes with people getting used to the Ground Slam again, we took him down nicely.
Teeth of Gruul to Euphoriia.
Gauntlets of the Dragonslayer to Pingo.
Leggings of the Fallen Defender to Kredarr.
Leggings of the Fallen Hero to Nuddel.
Congratulations to Nuddel and Kredarr for their 4/5 Tier 4, aswell.
After excreting some retards, Colossus has stepped up and downed High King. Excellent work by everyone meant tonight went a lot smoother than previous attempts, but special props to our Mage tank Nuddel and both our Warlocks Zeuus and Emonology.
Bladespire Warbands to Zeezo.
Pauldrons of the Fallen Defender to Kredarr.
Pauldrons of the Fallen Champion to Kaiserbill.
Netherspite down, finally 11/11 in Karazhan.
Starting Gruul's Lair tomorrow..
Time for an update...
Nightbane down. We're now 10/11 in Karazhan, with Netherspite left to go -- 48% being our best attempt. Excellent work on everyone's behalf, we'll be storming to Gruul soon enough.

So it's finally come to pass, We currently have enough members attuned to Karazhan to have multiple raid ID's running at the same time. The down side to this is that people can't "mix 'n' match" with the different raid groups and leads to delays, confusion, and generally people getting annoyed.
To combat this we will be taking a select few from the guild (about 15) who will be one raid group leaving more spots open for a second raid group to be established. The members that have been picked are those currently running heroics, regular online times, agreed to respec if needed, and have committed to a set raid schedule.
The group was deliberately made small so that we can have a well balanced more flexible additional raid running at the same time. The smaller raid group also has a secondary function also, this is to perfect tactics needed for defeating some of the bosses in Karazhan, and documenting them on our website for reference. In effect the smaller group will be the ones that take all the wipes figuring out that "yes- Maiden's chain attack does kill clothies in a single hit and can wipe the raid" which I have dubbed "The Wipe Squad" until a better name is found.
Raids will be posted on PHPraid for April! Sign up today!
We're looking to jump straight into our first raid on Sunday 4th of March. Since it is only a small raid instance we may be running two or more at the same time depending on number, the danger of this is that karazhan is on a 7 day reset so if you start with one group you won't be able to continue later in the week with the other.
Those looking to sign up can do so on the PHP raid system as usual. If you're new to the guild then you'll need to register an account on it first.
Also we'll be running DKP on the instance, this is for obvious reasons. As a temporary measure we'll be using an external DKP system until our Relith made one is fully functional. Unfortunately this means you'll have to sign up to another website, Failure to sign up means no DKP for the raid. All the details needed can be found HERE.
As with all raids please come prepared with reagents etc and read up on the instance tactics located HERE.
Congratulations to everyone who's hit 70. We're looking to have a very strong group forming which is going to be great for farming the end-game 5-mans and of course for when we start raiding in Karazhan. On that note do you guys all know what rep you need and what needs are needed for the instances?
Heroic Mode: Is the thing we should be aiming for post-Karazhan. For those who don't know in TBC you can put the 5-man dungeons on "hard mode" if you meet the pre-requisites. In heroic mode everything does more damage, has more HP, and is generally -alot- harder. To unlock heroic mode you (and everyone in the party) need to purchase a key from faction vendors. First though, you must hit reveared. Below is a list of the dungeons and what faction you need to work on:
Hellfire Citadel: Thrallmar
Coilfang: Cenerian Expedition
Auchundoun: Lower City
Tempest keep: The Sha'tar
Note that most rep repeatable quests stop -way- before revered, which means the only way to get revered is to grind the 70 instances.
Karazhan: Our first raiding instance has a key requirement like Onyxia- Everyone needs one. The chain isn't too hard, but does require the comlpetion of several level 70 instances (black morass, Steamvault, Shadow Labyrinth, and Arcatraz). Once you hit 70 this should be your number one priority. It's an easy quest which you'll do during your natural progression through the instances. The key quest starts here: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=9826
Keys: Along with Karazhan some of the level 70 instance require ONE person in the group to have a key (or just unlock a door). These quests are normally -very- easy and are a nice addition to your keyring, though, not essential.
Hellfire Citadel- Shattered Halls: http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=10755
Auchundoun- Shadow Labyrinth: http://www.wowwiki.com/Shadow_Labyrinth
Tempest Keep- Arcatraz: http://www.wowwiki.com/The_Arcatraz#Key_to_The_Arcatraz
Dungeon Set 3: This is basically the new standard issue pre-raiding set that has some nice bits and some nasty bits. Each class is offered a few sets to choose from so it's tailored to most styles of play. As your guild leader I's suggest hunting down these armor sets since most are handy, plus you may find better stuff on your travels. The dungeon set drops from bosses in the following instances:
The Steamvault - (68-70)
The Mechanar - (69-70)
The Shattered Halls - (70)
The Botanica - (70)
Shadow Labyrinth - (70)
The Arcatraz - (70)
For a full list of all the dungeon set and stats check out Wowhead's comprehensive list at http://www.wowhead.com/?itemsets
Once we're running heroic there's still more keys and attunements. But I'll leave that for another post! Good luck!

Relith drives to my house and we gather the equipment needed.
15.01.07 20:15
Set up begins. After a minor struggle with Relith's 5.1 we finally get everything 100% ready... well nearly, Relith's mouse keeps randomly disconnecting. I decided to mill about on the server and experiance the portal opening which went something like:
nothing.. nothing.. nothing.. crash.. nothing.. nothing.. crash.. nothing..
this carried on for a while. The only positive thing was that the Horde held the the portal for most of the night.
15.01.07 23:00
We drive to our local supermarket where we stock up on food. The list went something like:
48 cans of coke
12 packets of cookies
6liters of fruit smoothies
serveral large bags of Doritos
pork scratchings
and a french stick
We then noticed that there was a hell of alot of people wondering round the entertainment section. We questioned the nerdiest and found out they were -all- waiting for TBC. We joined the queue. The queue is asked to move to the downstairs till... off the queue marches with me somewhere in the middle with a huge trolley filled with goodies. As I get onto the escelator my trolley wheels lock up and I'm stuck, unable to move as the rest of the queue goes marching off... I feel the scowling look of the back end of the cue burning into my skull.. with that Relith screams "I'll grab you one" and bolts off leaving me all alone. As I and the rest get to the check out there's a shop assistant standing behind Relith. He says that no one else is going to get one... yet I queue anyway...
By luck the retard cant count and both Relith and I walked away with our copies. Others weren't so lucky.
16.01.07 00:45
we begin the install. We pop our discs in and away we go. Nearly. Relith's pc produces a few error. lots infact. So I take the time to mock him while I put disc two in. Mwhahahahahahahahaha... I revel in the mockingness... untill mine crashes at 26% BUGGER!!?!?!
16.01.07 01:45
Relith's PC is still having trouble installing. God damnit.
This weekend saw us finally take down General Rajaxx. Buru the Gorger and Moam were soon to follow, however in true Colossus fashion: we had few worth-while drops.
Enchant: Agility on Gloves went to Kredarr as guild enchanter.
Qiraj Spiked Hilt also went to Kredarr.
In other news, with 30 people Onyxia just would not let us get her past 6%, in addition to two other sub 20% wipes.
There's 8 days before The Burning Crusade is released. Let's hope we can down Onyxia and make some more progress in AQ20 before then!

And so it's here. Saturday 6th to Sunday 7th of January will be the last mega raid weekend (well the last before Burning Crusade). Our main goal for this weekend is progression. We'll be heading to AQ20 to futher ourselves, as well as our main target which is Onyxia.
For those of you not attuned yet there is a wealth of infomation on what you need to do, and for those of you attuned there is a good guide on how to down her posted in the tactics forum. It'll be wise for you to stock up on all the usual potions, bandages and reagents for this event.
All raid times are posted on PhpRaid, please make sure you do not set yourselves on standby by mistake.
On our first "attempt" at Onyxia we managed to get her down to 60% with only 19 people.
This was pretty good, but imagine what we could do with 40 people?
Before TBC comes out, I'm setting our primary goal in defeating Onyxia, Our last "big" raid challenge. I know we've barely scraped the surface in AQ20, but nothing declares a guilds awesomeness to the server then defeating the daughter of Deathwing. For the next 2-3 weeks -all- scheduled raids will be to Onyxia's Lair. Once we master the phase two tactics we'll have her down in no time!
Lets enter TBC with a bang and have a Merry Christmas!
